Black Eyed Peas’ frontman and producer Will.i.am has heaped praise on Britney Spears’ upcoming album ‘Femme Fatale’, claiming that it is “a monster”.

In an interview with the Associated Press, he said: "I just came from the studio right now. It's a monster. It's mean, pretty, edgy, next level. But the beat just... It's that beat. She's singing fresh over it. It's something that today needs."

Will.i.am recently went into the studio with Britney Spears to record a collaboration with the singer. The song is in all likelihood intended for her upcoming LP ‘Femme Fatale’, which producer Dr. Luke confessed last week is still not finished. The album is set for release on March 17th.

Will.i.am was full of praise for the ‘Stronger’ singer, continuing his laudations in a separate interview with Extra: "It's mean, but a nice mean. It's hard, but melodic. It's aggressive, but smooth. It's the next level, but today. She's a sweetheart. We made music and that’s what I like. When you’re doing things because you just love it, without the, ya know, ‘we need a single’ pressure, when you’re just in there having fun, that’s what I love,”

The rapper also posted his enthusiasm for the collaboration on Twitter, saying: "The song I did with Britney is gonna be crazy fresh. From the Super Bowl to the studio workin' on a mega smasher. Can't wait till it's done."

Meanwhile, Spears has been doing a series of short promotional ‘countdown’ videos for the premiere of the video for her latest single ‘Hold It Against Me’. You can view a selection of the teasers below:
