Liam Gallager Claims “Noel Will Listen To Beady Eye”

Thursday, 10 February 2011 Written by James Conlon

Liam Gallagher has admitted he has no doubt that his brother and ex-Oasis bandmate Noel will listen to Beady Eye’s debut album.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the singer showed his confidence, saying: "I mean, he’s a music lover, so I’m sure he’ll have his ear out. I’m sure it’s not gonna make or break his day"

He continued: “Just like his album. I’ll give a listen to it when it comes out. But it ain’t gonna make or break my f**king day, you know what I mean? You don’t just turn off 'cause we’re not in a band together. He’ll be checking it out...of course he will."

Beady Eye were formed as an outfit with Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and bass player Andy Bell after a clash between Noel and Liam caused the break-up of the band in late 2009.

Speaking about the band’s upcoming release ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’, Liam said: "This feels like it can be f**king massive. The sound feels like it can be f**king massive. The songs are there. Whether people buy it or not is two different things, but already the music is bigger than Oasis, you know what I mean? So we’ll see. If not, never mind." The album is scheduled for release on February 28th.

However, it would appear that Liam might have to wait a while to return the favour and listen to his brother’s solo album. Noel Gallagher revealed earlier this week that he had not yet begun recording the record, despite public belief that the singer had been working on demos since the end of Oasis.

Speaking to British radio station talkSPORT he said: “I am not recording new stuff – not just yet – and it will be out when it's finished I guess, well, when I've started it. I'd have thought if anything comes out it will be later rather than sooner.”
