Def Leppard Confirmed As Download Festival's Third Headliner Plus More Bands Announced

Mighty Sheffield rockers return to Donington for another headline appearance this June.

It’s the news you’ve all been waiting for – Download's third and final headliner for 2011 has been revealed – and completing the line up are none other than the incredible Def Leppard!

Download fans will remember the band’s previous headline set from 2009, which included a plethora of some of the genre’s defining hits, as well as emotional performances that still hasn’t been forgotten by the thousands who witnessed it. The Sunday night slot was one of the festival’s defining moments, and celebrated the truly heroic return of drummer Rick Allen following the loss of his arm in a horrific car accident.

The band proved how good you get when you spend literally decades rocking arenas, and they’ll be doing it all again in 2011 – you don’t want to miss this. With Linkin Park and System of a Down confirmed on the line up as the other two headliners, this year’s Download is shaping up to be the most diverse and exciting it’s ever been.

Thats not all though, organisers of the Donington weekend bash have announced another batch of bands who will be joining the party with Turisas, All That Remains, Sacred Mother Tongue, Bowling For Soup and Devil Wears Prada making appearances. You can also expect to see Bring Me The Horizon, Frank Turner and Cheap Trick as well as Asking Alexandria, Straight Line Stitch and Disturbed.

There's more! Black Stone Cherry return to this year's Download and The King Blues, Medina Lake, Down, Jameson Raid and Ghost will also be tearing up Donington this June.

Download Festival 2011 takes place at Donington racetrack between Friday 10th June and Monday 13th June. Tickets are onsale now. Click Here to Compare & Buy Download Tickets
