Rihanna Relaxes Restraining Order Against Chris Brown

Rihanna has agreed to the relaxing of Chris Brown’s restraining order, it has been revealed. L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg yesterday officially confirmed the decision, which means that Brown is now legally allowed to talk to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The order was initially imposed after Brown was convicted of domestic assault prior to the 2009 Grammy Awards. As well as being sentenced to five years probation and a 1,400 hour community service sentence, Brown was required to remain at least 50 yards away from Rihanna or at least 10 yards away at entertainment industry functions.

However, this week Rihanna agreed to have the order relaxed, a decision which means that Brown is now legally allowed to contact her. Rihanna's lawyer Donald Etra said: “I have spoken with my client and she does not object to it being modified to a level one order.” Judge Schnegg told Brown yesterday that she was approving the order, with the condition that Brown cannot “annoy, molest or conduct surveillance” on the Barbadian singer.

Brown completed a 52-week course of domestic abuse councelling last December, receiving good reviews during all of his probation progress report hearings. The singer’s next court hearing is scheduled for June 27th, but he is not required to attend in person.
