T In The Park Festival Tickets Sell Out Within An Hour As Fans Queue Overnight

Tickets for this year's T In The Park Festival went onsale at 9am this morning with fans snapping up tickets for the Scottish festival in under and hour.

A star-studded line-up, which includes headliners Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and Coldplay, will perform in front of a capacity crowd of 85,000 at the festival which takes place in Balado, Scotland over the weekend of July 8th to July 10th. Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye as well as the reunited Pulp, Hurts, The View and My Chemical Romance are also among the other acts on the bill.

Some fans who were so eager to secure their tickets for the weekend bash that they decided to queue through the night outside Ripping Records on South Bridge in Edinburgh. First to get their hands on tickets were a group of friends from Fife who started the queue at 7:30am on Thursday morning!

A number of tickets were released immediately after last years' festival, and a further batch went on sale in December. All these early tickets quickly sold out, with the final batch going on sale at 9am this morning.

Speaking about the rush for tickets, Geoff Ellis, festival director for DF Concerts, said: "We are delighted to have an exceptionally strong line-up for 2011 but you can't be complacent, it's still as momentous for us to sell out now as it was the first time around and we're thrilled. It's great to know 85,000 music lovers think we've made the right choices and that they are as excited about the gates opening on July 8th as we are."

Fans of T In The Park should be warned about scam sites when looking to purchase tickets. Scam site TintheParkTickets.com, a website advertising on Google as part of a chain of sites that have been scamming UK music fans over the past 2 years, has already been indentified as a Scam site and fans should take extra care when looking online for any live music tickets.
