Frank Turner Discusses New Album ‘England Keep My Bones’

Friday, 25 February 2011 Written by James Conlon

Punk troubadour Frank Turner has recently spoken about his upcoming album, ‘England Keep My Bones’. The record will be Turner’s fourth LP, scheduled for release on June 6th this year.

The singer rose to underground fame as the lead singer of Million Dead, a band known as a firm staple of the English punk scene. However, seemingly not content with electric fame, Turner moved towards his inner singer/songwriter five years ago, launching a solo career as an acoustic artist.

Turner has been putting new material on trial during recent small-scale shows over the UK, and the singer seemed very enthused about the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Poetry of the Deed’ during a recent interview. He said: "I can't wait to get this record out there. The new songs have been going down really well live, but I think that when people hear the studio versions they're going to go nuts. I think it's the strongest set of material I've had on one record."

Frank Turner is set to embark on one of his largest tours to date this May as a preview to the record’s official release. Speaking about the tour, he confirmed that he would be performing alone, with the possible odd collaboration with support acts. He said: "It'll be solo shows, just me and my guitar. Supports are sorted but we'll not be announcing just yet."
