Bloc Party Share New Single Now We Can't Be Friends And Announce UK Record Store Tour

Bloc Party have shared another song from their upcoming seventh album.
Following last month's Love Bombs and spring single Coming On Strong, Now We Can't Be Friends blends icy synths with a driving beat as the third preview of 'Anatomy Of a Brief Romance', due out on September 11 via new record label cOnTAGIOUS LTD.
Produced by Trevor Horn, the album was written by frontman Kele Okereke after separating from the father of his children following more than a decade together, before unexpectedly falling in love again. The record is structured as a "chronological portrait of a love affair", moving from first glances through to heartbreak and the final farewell, with Now We Can't Be Friends serving as the moment on the album where the heartbreak sets in, as Okereke returns to the club scene and chooses not to speak to his ex when they cross paths. He said:
"You can have these big feelings, but you have to be aware that when they go, this is how you'll feel and, you'll be okay with that."
Along with the new music, the British indie giants have scheduled seven special intimate shows at UK record stores around the album's release. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Wednesday (July 29).
Bloc Party are currently touring the US as support for Muse on The Wow! Signal Tour. Later in the year, they'll co-headline UK and European dates with Interpol in November and December. Tickets are on sale now.
