Lil Wayne Debuts ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ Video – Watch Now

Friday, 04 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

Lil Wayne has unveiled the video for his first single since being released from jail late last year. The rapper has returned with the video for ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’, the first track to be taken from his upcoming ninth studio album, ‘The Carter IV’.

Produced by Bangladesh (of ‘A Milli’ fame) and featuring a contribution from Cory Gunz, the single is a jump back into Lil Wayne’s more asinine lyrics, embracing the absurd with an ‘Inception’-themed video. Directed by Hype Williams, the video embraces its own lack of plot, seemingly becoming just a sequence of random and distinct images.

‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ was released on December 15th 2010. Lil Wayne’s upcoming studio album, ‘Tha Carter IV’ is yet to have a confirmed release date.

However, it would appear that not everyone is content with Lil Wayne’s current songwriting. The rapper has been the subject of criticism this week after three young girls decided to make a video about his misogynistic lyrics. Performing under the name ‘Watoto From the Nile’, Nia (age 10), Nya (age 9) and Kamaria (age 5) wrote a rap/letter to Lil Wayne and filmed a music video to accompany it. Despite having been online for only four days so far, the video has already received almost 125,000 views on YouTube.
