French duo Cocoon are set to release their UK debut, ahead of a live show in London in mid-April.
The pop-folk band’s new record, ‘Where the Ocean Ends’, will see release at the end of the month as their first release in the UK.
Cocoon are the multi-talented French duo Mark Daumail and Morgane Imbeau. Their first release, “My Friends All Died in a Plane Crash”, achieved Gold status in France and quickly drew them a devoted following with their music appearing in numerous films and commercials.
Influenced by American folk music, from Love to Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver, and recorded in the company of producer Ian Caple, “Where The Oceans End” also benefited from string arrangements by Dickon Hinchliffe from Tindersticks. Cocoon also found another important collaborator in the shape of Mark Maggiori who designed the beautiful illustrations for the album and directed the breathtaking video for “Comets”, which is embedded below.
And now you can catch a rare UK appearance from the two in London’s Bush Hall on April 19th.‘Where the Oceans End’ is released on March 28th.
