Blue Believe Eurovision “Isn't Career Suicide”

Boyband Blue have stated this week that they are confident about their decision to represent Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest, defending claims that the move is “career suicide”.
The band will be performing their own song, the optimistically-titled ‘I Can’ at the event this May. The group have suffered a media backlash from their decision to enter the competition, including claims from their former manager Daniel Glatman that the move was “insanity”.
Speaking about the decision, Duncan James told The Sun: "It was a massive decision to make. We did take a lot of time to think about it. But we decided to do it because it is a great opportunity to make a comeback. It is the biggest TV programme in Europe. How many times do you get asked to represent your country? We were privileged to be asked."
Singer Simon Webbe added: "We don't see this as career suicide. A lot of people will see it that way because of what has happened over the years, but we just want to show we are a live group and we are back."
Lee Ryan was also quick to discuss the band’s future after the competition, as he said: "This won't be the end for us no matter what happens in Eurovision."
The 2011 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 14th in Germany.
