Foster the People Set To Release Debut Single

Los Angeles based trio Foster the People will release their debut single ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ on April 18th on StarTime International/Columbia Records.

The band first caught the attention of fans early last year when they self-released their track ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ on their website for friends to share. One fan passed along to another and soon enough it ended up in the hands of NME – who immediately gave the band a Radar feature - Blackbook, Nylon and The Guardian, who said “it’s crossover potential is confirmed by the simple, shuffling beat, the buoyant Brian Wilson bassline and the outrageously catchy melody” in their New Band of the Day feature on Foster The People. The L.A Times recently described them “Like Empire of the Sun or Phoenix after a summer in California and a few hours in the freezer.”

Foster the People is Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink and Mark Pontius. The band is currently finishing their full-length debut album now which will be out later this year. The band will play two London shows to coincide with the release of the single at Camp Basement on Wednesday 13th April and Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on Thursday 14th April.
