Thursday Reveal UK Tour Dates, Details Of New Album ‘No Devolución’ & Tickets

Wednesday, 16 March 2011 Written by Jon Stickler

New Jersey (US) experimentalist rock band Thursday have announced European tourdates in April this year, in support of their upcoming album ‘No Devolución’, out on April 11th.

The tour will kick off in London on April 19th and will include shows in Germany, The Netherlands & Belgium. Rock Sound Magazine exclusively announced the UK shows and stated that “Geoff Rickly confirmed that crowds on those dates will be the first in the world to see the band performing songs from their sixth album. Yep, you read that right, THE FIRST IN THE WORLD."

During the Belgian Groezrock festival, Thursday will be playing an exclusive extra set of their classic groundbreaking album ‘Full Collapse’ in its entirety.

The UK dates are:

April-19 - London, UK @ Kings College
April-20 - Manchester, UK @ Academy 3
April-21 - Cardiff, UK @ Millennium Music Hall

On their sixth studio album and the most dynamic record to date,  ‘No Devolución’, Thursday explores elements of post-rock, indie, art and experimental styles, blending it all with their post-hardcore roots for a beautifully cathartic experience unlike anything they've done before.

“We were always tempering our desire to make something that was more graceful, more sweeping, and this record was the first one where we said, 'You know what? Who cares? Let's say our career is over tomorrow, who fucking cares? Let's make something beautiful” singer Geoff Rickly recently told in an interview.

Earlier this week the band premiered a second song from their new album called ‘Past And Future Ruins’. You can listen to it below.

‘No Devolución’ will be out on April 11th.
