Lucy Liu Makes Her Musical Debut with The Bullitts

‘Charlie’s Angels’ star Lucy Liu is to make her musical debut on the new single by The Bullitts. The track, entitled ‘Close Your Eyes’, is due for release on 18th April and also features rapper Jay Electronica. The single is the first to be taken from the debut album by The Bullitts, ‘They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories ‘, which will be released later this year and features vocal contributions from a number of artists including Tori Amos and Mos Def.

Jeymes Samuel - the man behind the The Bullits – is a singer, musician, songwriter and producer, who has previously worked with the likes of Jay-Z and Estelle. ‘They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories’ is a concept album that follows a narrative by Liu’s character Amelia Sparks – a convicted murderer awaiting execution. Throughout the album, Sparks tells the story of the events that caused her to end up on death row.

The Bullitts have released a brand new video for ‘Close Your Eyes’, which was directed by photographer Marc Baptiste and features dancer and contortionist Storyboard P. Speaking about the video, Baptiste said: “I feel The Bullitts are the best band in the world so conceptualizing and directing a video for them was easy because they are so inspiring. We shot the video in Dumbo, Brooklyn and it was cold as hell that day, but even sub zero temperatures couldn't have stopped us from filming. We knew we were creating something hot.”
