Selena Gomez Discusses Upcoming Album

Selena Gomez has discussed her upcoming third LP, promising “more depth” than her previous releases. The ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star said that she is very excited out the album, for which she is currently writing and recording early demos.

Speaking to MTV, the ‘Naturally’ star said that she is looking forward to have the chance to write about the experiences which she has had since the release of her second album, ‘A Year Without Rain’ in 2010.

She said: "The third record is really fun, and there's a song called 'Hit the Lights' that I love, and it's basically about every missed opportunity that you've had. But it's also a dance track. There's a lot more depth on this album."

Gomez also stated that the album will feature a track written by British artist Pixie Lott. She said: "There is one [song] that I'm completely in love with, and it was written by Pixie Lott, who I am obsessed with. And it's my mum's favourite song. It's very sweet. It's kind of a ballad, but not really. It's basically about living in the moment; it's about enjoying right now. I'm very much enjoying right now. I'm in a good place."

Meanwhile, Gomez has stated that she is planning to do a Britney Spears tribute on her upcoming tour. The singer plans to cover several Spears songs, dedicating a whole section of her set to the idea. She said: "I love Britney. I was like, 'I have to do it, I wanna do a mash up of all her songs and just go for it. We’re gonna do her hit: ‘Baby One More Time’ and then I think we’re going to try to incorporate ‘Toxic’ and that phase, and then we might do some of her recent stuff,"
