Reading & Leeds Festival Tickets - Guidance Issued To Buy From Reputable Sellers

Festival-goers planning to attend this summer's live music extravaganzas, especially those who are looking to purchase tickets for the Reading and Leeds festivals tonight, are being advised to buy tickets from reputable sellers only.

The guidance comes after a conman was found guilty at Leeds Crown Court earlier this week for 'speculative selling', accepting money for tickets to the 2008 Leeds Festival that he did not actually possess.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, 45-year-old Mr Christopher Bundza was found guilty of 18 charges of fraud and money laundering after 17 complaints were received and investigated. Managing Director of Festival Republic, the company who run both the Reading and Leeds festivals, had this to say about the case.

"Festival Republic is proactive in its endeavours to protect its potential customers from buying tickets from unauthorised sources and we give full support to the police in their investigations. We are pleased that this case in relation to the speculative sale of 2008 Leeds Festival tickets has been successful."

Stereoboard.com runs a black-list of scam websites to help music fans avoid being ripped off, and have issued the warning ahead of tickets going on sale for the August bank holiday Reading and Leeds Festivals at 7.15pm this evening (Monday March 21st). The ticket scam black-list can be viewed at www.stereoboard.com/ticket-scams. An example of a fake festival website can be seen at: www.v-festival-2011.com

Last month Stereoboard produced a viral video to warn fans against disreputable tout ticket sellers. ‘Access All Areas’, which has received over 25,000 views so far, follows the fate of a group of music fans who opt to go ‘off road’ obtaining their tickets unofficially, to blag their way backstage at a major gig. They ultimately get left out in the cold in the video. The film can we viewed at www.youtube.com/user/StereoboardTV or you can of course view the video below.

Tickets for the Reading Festival and Tickets for the Leeds Festival, which take place at Richfield Avenue Reading, and Bramham Park Leeds, will go onsale at 7.15pm TONIGHT with fans expected to snap-up tickets for one of the biggest events on the UK's summer live music calendar within a matter of minutes.

Good luck!
