Katy Perry And Calvin Harris Bicker On Twitter

Katy Perry and Calvin Harris have had a contemptuous exchange of words on Twitter after the Scottish musician backed out of his scheduled slot as support act on the current leg of Perry’s UK tour. The singer had been announced as main support act for Perry’s performances in the UK and Ireland, but backed out after a supposed change in stance from Perry’s management.

The exchange began as Perry tweeted to inform her fans: "FYI ALL UK & IRELAND RELATED SHOWS @CalvinHarris will NOT be joining in on the fun and has CANCELLED last minute (sic)."

Harris then re-tweeted the message, explaining: "Sorry to all who wanted to see me with Katy - her team suddenly moved the goalposts, and i was to appear on stage with no production. It would have looked s**t, sounded s**t - trust me you would have been more disappointed SEEING the show than u are with me cancelling. That's the honest truth,"

The ‘Flashback’ star added: "Her show is AWESOME, you'll all have an amazing time without me. (especially w/o me DJing on a cardboard box in front of a pink curtain)."

Katy Perry then replied to Harris’ assertion, saying: "...funny the goal post seems to be perfectly fine for New Young Pony Club, Yelle, Robyn, Marina & The Diamonds to name a few."

She continued: "or how bout Janell Monae and her 16 piece band... Etc... it's fine, I'm used to you cancelling on me, it's become ur staple!"

Harris finally finished by stating: "I am really sorry @katyperry I'm just upset because I really wanted to play but ur team made it impossible. We tried really hard to sort it out, but playing side of stage for 30 mins, it seemed pointless me even being there. Didn't intend to cause offence or upset anybody."
