Katy B: “I Auditioned To Be Hermione In Harry Potter”

British R&B sensation Katy B has confessed that she once auditioned to play Hermione in the Harry Potter film series. The ‘Lights On’ singer admitted that she once wanted to be an actress in her life before music, even auditioning for a role in a West End production of Annie.
Speaking to The Guardian, the young singer said: "[Annie] was the first time I had to sing. I auditioned to be Hermione in Harry Potter as well. They were like, 'Have you read the book?' I was like, 'No.' 'Next!'"
Katy B follows in the footsteps of Kate Nash, Jessie J and The Kooks in being a Brit School graduate who has gone on to hit the big time. Speaking on whether or not attending the school has affected her current street cred, the signer said: "If people think it's all singing, dancing and acting, well, that's what I wanted - do you know what I mean? I met all my best friends and I loved it. But I didn't make my music there, I did it outside. The first tune that I released, I did with my friend's brother."
Katy B was confirmed for the Radio 1 Big Weekend this morning. The singer also recently unveiled the video for her track ‘Broken Record’, which you can view below:
