Arctic Monkeys Announce First Single From ‘Suck It And See’

Thursday, 31 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

Arctic Monkeys have announced today that 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair' will be taken as the lead single for their upcoming album 'Suck It And See'. The track is set for a digital release on April 11th, with a limited set of white label seven-inch vinyl’s of the single made available for Record Store Day, which takes place on April 16th.

It has been reported that the vinyl will also feature ‘Brick By Brick’ as its b-side. The track was the first to be premiered from the album when it appeared online three weeks ago. Fans have been quick to comment on the driving guitar lines on the track, which have almost entirely abandoned lead singer Alex Turner’s trademark witticisms.

The single will be officially released in physical form on May 30th, featuring b-sides 'The Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap' and 'I.D.S.T', neither of which appear on ‘Suck It And See’.

‘Suck It And See’ is currently scheduled for release in the UK on June 6th. It was revealed earlier this week that Queen Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme has had a hand in the album, contributing vocals to one of the tracks. The album has been described as “more poppy” than ‘Humbug’ by drummer Matt Helders.
