Morissey, Queens Of The Stone Age & More Announced As Glastonbury Confirms 2011 Line-Up

With the re-sale of returned tickets ready to take place this Sunday, Michael Eavis has ensured demand will be sky-high with today's star-studded announcement completing the 2011 line up.

After Cee Lo Green, Kool & The Gang and others were confirmed when the West Holts (formerly Jazz World) line-up was confirmed earlier this week, Glasto organisers have now added another batch of heavy hitters.

Sludgy-blues rockers Queens Of The Stone Age will provide the perfect alternative as Sunday’s Other Stage headliner playing opposite the controversial choice of Beyonce as Pyramid headliner to close the Worthy Farm extravaganza. Emily Eavis was delighted with the announcement of Josh Homme and Co saying, "That will be fantastic because they will appeal to very different people".

Elsewhere, after a month or more of rumours, Elbow have been confirmed as the sub-headliner to Coldplay on Saturday’s Pyarmid stage with Morrissey in the equivalent slot on Friday before U2. Morrisey will make his first appearance at Glastonbury since 2004, having first played there with The Smiths in 1984.

Classic acts are well catered for with Don McLean followed by Paul Simon on the Pyramid in Sunday’s now traditional legend slot with BB King filling the same role for Friday.

New music is well covered too with Fleet Foxes and White Lies confirmed high up on Other Stage's bill. The likes of Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, The Vaccines and James Blake will also make appearances.

With the 2011 Glastonbury line-up now looking far more filled out, all that’s left is to hope for similar weather to last year's rain free scorcher with Michael Eavis confident that this years bands could top last year's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Eavis commented. "I think we have the best headliners we've ever had, and if we get the sunshine I think it will be even better than last year."

Around 10,000 tickets will be available in a re-sale this Sunday. The full line up is available from Glastonbury’s official website www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk
