King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard Announce New Electronic Album 'Alien Metal'

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have outlined plans for their 28th album.
The shapeshifting Melbourne band will release 'Alien Metal' through their own (p)doom Records this summer, though a date has yet to be confirmed, following last year's 'Phantom Island'.
The album grew from ideas explored on 2023's 'The Silver Cord' and their recent "rave shows", where the band swapped traditional instruments for a modular synth setup, continuing the prolific sextet's exploration in electronic dance music with a darker, experimental sound.
Alongside the announcement, the band have shared the lead single, Level 5, a dark electronic offering with techno beats, synths and hypnotic vocals that was written and recorded using the modular synthesizer they took on the road last year, which they named "Nathan". Next month, the band will play their sold-out Field Of Vision Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado, followed by three headline shows at New York's Forest Hills Stadium and another "rave show" at Brooklyn's Under The K Bridge Park, with support from .VRIL.
