King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Post New 'Alien Metal' Single Kill For The Steel

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have shared a new single.
Dealing in dynamic percussion and atmospheric synths, Kill For The Steel is the latest preview of 'Alien Metal', the Australian band's upcoming album, an exploration of dark electronic dance music using the modular synthesizer setup nicknamed Nathan that they used during their 'rave shows' last year.
They previously previewed the follow-up to 2025's 'Phantom Island', which does not currently have a release date, with the title track and single Level 5.
The upcoming record will feature five more tracks: Sapience, Superheavy, Supercritical, Rapid Alpha Decay, Uqt and Atomic Collapse. Check out the cover art by Jason Galea, who also did the visualiser for Kill For The Steel, below.
The new track arrives ahead of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's sold-out Field Of Vision Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado later this week, following which they'll headline a trio of shows at New York's Forest Hills Stadium and a "rave show" at Brooklyn's Under The K Bridge Park next week.
Later in the year, they've got a run of Australian dates in the diary for October, including a two-day Croxton Block Party curated by the band in Melbourne and a late-night rave set in Sydney.
