Andrea Bocelli has announced his first headline concert in Wales.
The acclaimed Italian tenor will be accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera and a massed choir at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on May 8. The performance will feature songs from his iconic 1997 album 'Romanza', which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year, with the stadium's closed roof creating an intimate atmosphere and world-class acoustics. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (August 14).
"Throughout my career I have been fortunate to perform in many extraordinary places around the world, and I am thrilled to be making my first headline appearance in Wales," Bocelli said. "The country's rich choral heritage and deep connection with music make this city a fitting setting for this special concert, and I am looking forward to an unforgettable evening in Cardiff."
The concert will take place during the inaugural Land Of Song Festival, celebrating Wales' rich musical heritage, with the festival continuing on May 9 with Côr World Choir, bringing thousands of singers from Wales, the UK and around the world together at the iconic stadium. First held in 1992, the event was created by the same organisation behind Young Voices.

Then on Sunday, the festival continues with the return of Côr World Choir, bringing thousands of singers together in a powerful celebration of community, culture and the shared joy of music.
"Together, these two spectacular events will launch what we believe will become one of the world's great celebrations of singing."
In June, Bocelli released his most recent album, 'Season of Champions', a compilation gathering iconic inspirational and athletic anthems, including Nessun Dorma from the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem DNA (More Than A Game). His latest solo studio album is 2020's 'Believe', which was followed by a deluxe edition in 2021.
He is currently touring Europe and is set to perform in North America later this year.
