Slow Pulp have released a new single titled Spill.
The dreamy, guitar-led indie-rock track follows Not for Nothing and Better Man and was written while the Chicago-based band was working on their 2023 album, 'Yard', but it didn't fully come together until producer Elliot Kozel got involved.
It marks the latest preview of the quartet's third album, 'Melodie', due out on September 18 via ANTI-. Lead vocalist Emily Massey said of the song:
“Once we started working on 'Melodie' it felt like a song that could live within the world we were building, so it made it onto the album."
She continued: "The song itself is about feeling stuck in a pattern of casual relationships that felt they had some barrier to expressing real love. It’s that delicate dance where you wait for someone else to take the leap. Too afraid to say it too soon but also too afraid to say it too late, waiting to see how it will all play out."
Slow Pulp will support 'Melodie' with a UK and European tour early next year, following a live performance and signing event at London's Rough Trade East on September 24 and a North American tour this fall. Tickets are on sale now.
