Great White Sharks 'Less Aggressive' When They Listen to AC/DC

Great White Sharks in Australia have officially become the most rock ‘n’ roll animals on the planet – after it was revealed that they love AC/DC.

Scientists in Southern Australia have been testing how sharks react when different music is played underwater, and they have discovered that the terrifying beasts actually behave much calmer when played songs by AC/DC – their personal favourite being ‘You Shook me all Night Long’.

Head of the experiment Matt Waller, a chartered boat operator, spoke to ABC news about the investigation.

“I was talking to a guy who had been diving in Guadeloupe and there were some divers there who just been playing music in the water.

“We got talking and they said there were some certain songs that saw an actual change in the behaviour of the sharks.

“I started going through my albums and AC/DC was something that really hit the mark. Their behaviour was more investigative, more inquisitive and a lot less aggressive.

“They actually came past on a couple of occasions when we had the speaker in the water and rubbed their face along the speaker which was really bizarre.”

He also went on to explain that the research is even more remarkable as sharks don’t even have ears, and are only responding to the frequencies and soundwaves sent through the water.
