Reef to Headline Bournemouth’s Musicosity Festival in September

West Country rockers Reef are among the first acts to be confirmed for Bournemouth’s Musicosity Festival in September. The quartet will headline the multi-venue urban music festival at the O2 Academy Bournemouth on Saturday 3rd September, the second night of the event. 2011 marks Bournemouth’s first ever Musicosity Festival, which will run from Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th September, showcasing popular acts alongside new and emerging artists. Over 50 acts will be playing at various venues across the town, including the O2 Academy and The Old Fire Station. The event will also be offering opportunities to up-and-coming musicians from across the region. Other artists confirmed so far include Not Advised, ThePeteBox, Checking Pulse, Friends Electric, We Start Partys, Hero, Amy Can Flyy, Streebeck, Death of an Artist and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.

Speaking about the event, Musicosity’s Daryl Bradbury said: “These festivals are an opportunity to check out the newest bands around, as well helping new artists find their audience. We’ve been inundated with acts wanting to perform and we hope to work with as many of them as possible.”

Reef originally reformed last year for a reunion tour that included some of the band’s first shows in seven years. They also performed at Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festivals.
