Mr Fogg Releases ‘Moving Parts’ Video from American History X Director Tony Kaye

Saturday, 04 June 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Oxford-based solo artist Mr Fogg has released the new video for his track ‘Moving Parts’, which is directed by British film director Tony Kaye. The track is taken from Mr Fogg’s debut album of the same name, which was released last year. It follows the release of his previous single ‘Answerphone’. The new video to ‘Moving Parts’ was shot at various locations around Los Angeles, including Walt Disney Concert Hall, and consists entirely of several thousand stop-animated still photographs. Watch the video below.

Director Tony Kaye is probably best-known for his feature film debut, the Oscar-nominated ‘American History X’ starring Edward Norton, which was released in 1998. However, Kaye has also worked on a number of music videos in the past, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2006 single ‘Dani California’. He won a Grammy Award in the same year for his video to the Johnny Cash track ‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’, which featured cameo appearances from Bono, Johnny Depp, Kanye West, Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, Chris Martin and Dennis Hopper among others. Kaye’s new film ‘Detachment’, featuring Adrien Brody, Christina Hendricks, James Caan and Lucy Liu, is expected to be released sometime this year.

Mr Fogg is currently working on new material with Icelandic producer Valgeir Sigurdsson, who previously worked with him on ‘Moving Parts’ and has also produced music by Bjork, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and The Magic Numbers.
