AC/DC New Album & 40th Anniversary Tour Planned?

AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson has dropped a strong hint that the rock legends are ready to embark on a 40th anniversary tour to go along with a brand new album in 2013.

While speaking to popeater.com the singer said the band were planning to get together to "chat to see how we're feeling” about marking their fourth decade of rocking following their recent success with their ‘Black Ice’ album and World tour.

Johnson did stop short of guaranteeing anything however, suggesting they don’t want to put themselves under the pressure of a timescale saying, "We never ever say 'we're going in the studio January next year,' if you do that you're straight under pressure and we've never worked like that."

Johnson also said that the two year ‘Black Ice’ tour was such a gruelling schedule the band need more time to get over that before planning anything else. He also revealed that the band are unlikely to embark on such a huge schedule in future; "That was brutal but I'd sure hate to say that's the end of it. I think you need a full stop at the end of everything, a sentence, your life, or your car. There has to be a full stop and I don't think we've had one yet."

Part of the 'Black Ice' tour featured a spectacular headline slot at 2010’s Download festival, a week short of 12 months ago. AC/DC also released a new live DVD last month ‘AC/DC: Live At River Plate’. You can watch the trailer for the DVD below.
