American solo artist John Grant has announced a number of UK tour dates to coincide with the festival appearances he will be making over the summer months. Last year, the former Czars frontman released his debut solo album ‘Queen of Denmark’, which was recorded with Texan folk-rockers Midlake. The album received a number of praising reviews in the press and Mojo Magazine awarded it their Album of the Year. See below for dates and tickets for the new shows.
In addition to his new headlining dates, John will also be performing at the following festival dates:
Sat 26th June – Glastonbury Festival
Sun 24th July – Truck Festival, Oxfordshire
Sun 14th August – Standon Calling
Fri 19th August – Beautiful Days, Devon
Sun 4th September – End of the Road Festival
Sun 11th September – Bestival, Isle of Wight
John Grant founded the alternative rock band The Czars in Denver, Colorado in 1994 with bassist Chris Pearson. They recorded six albums before their split in 2004, shortly after the release of their final album, the appropriately-titled ‘Goodbye’. John wouldn’t return to making music until 2008, when he began recording his first solo album at Midlake’s recording studio in Denton, Texas. ‘Queen of Denmark’ was released last year through Bella Union.
