Coldplay Showcase Four More New Tracks

After debuting their latest single ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’ last week, Coldplay showed-off four more new tracks during their headline set at Rock AM Ring over the weekend.

Headlining the event hosted at Germany’s Nurburgring race track the band played five new tracks in total, including the new single. Other tracks making their debut were ‘Hurts Like Heaven’, ‘Major Minus’, ‘Us Against The World’ and ‘Cartoon Hearts’.

The band have also credited Mystic’s ‘Ritmo de la Noche’ as a major influence for ‘Every Teardrop…’ with a spokesman telling the Huffington Post.

"Allen and Anderson (who wrote 'Ritmo') are credited as writers on 'Every Teardop Is A Waterfall'. Chris was inspired to write the song after watching the film Biutiful by Alejandro González Iñárritu. In the film, there is a nightclub scene in which a track ('Ritmo de la Noche') is playing in the background, based on 'I Go To Rio'."

All five new tracks will be part of Coldplay's first studio album since 2009’s ‘Viva La Vide or Death And All His Friends’. A title and release date are also yet to be confirmed for the release but with the volume of songs already showcased it’s fair to assume something could be ready by late summer/early Autumn.

Coldplay will headline Saturday’s Pyramid stage bill at Glastonbury festival on 25th June where they are expected to show-off their new songs to a much larger audience with the set broadcast on BBC.
