Bombay Bicycle Club have announced details of their third album, ‘A Different Kind Of Fix’. The London four-piece are set to release the LP on August 29th through Island Records, preceded by ‘Shuffle’, a single which will be available for digital download on June 23rd.
The album will be the follow-up to their commercially successful 2010 release ‘Flaws’, an acoustic album recorded largely at home by frontman Jack Steadman. Despite picking up critical acclaim and an Ivor Novello award for the record, the band have confirmed that they will be plugging their electric guitars in once again for 'A Different Kind Of Fix', creating something closer to their debut effort ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’.
However, the quartet are not content just to get nostalgic: the new release will see the band embrace the addition of synths, sampled effects and layered vocals from all four band members.
Bombay Bicycle Club have recorded their latest album in Atlanta, Hamburg and London with Jim Abbiss, who took helm of the production for their debut effort. Also working behind the desk are Animal Collective producer Ben Allen and Jack Steadman himself, who will earn production credit on the band’s third effort.
Bombay Bicycle Club UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
Fri August 5th 2011 - Victoria Park,, London
Sat August 27th 2011 - Richfield Avenue, Reading
