Kasabian Confirm 'Velociraptor!' Tracklisting And Unveil ‘Switchblade Smiles’ – Listen Now

Wednesday, 08 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Kasabian have confirmed the tracklisting for their fourth studio album ‘Velocitaptor!’, which is scheduled for release on September 19th. The band have been working on the follow-up to their 2009 effort 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ since late last year, and debuted the first track from the record on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio show last night (June 7th).

‘Switchblade Smiles’ is a grimy sucker-punch from the Leicester five-piece, fusing extra-terrestrial synths with a bassline meaty enough to put a butcher’s out of business. The track is currently streaming on the band’s official website and is available as a free download when fans pre-order ‘Velociraptor!’.

Meanwhile, Kasabian are set to headline the Isle Of Wight Festival later this week, where they have promised fans that they will debut a selection of material from their upcoming album.

Speaking to NME about the set, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said: "I think we're gonna play a couple of new things. It's weird because people get a bit frightened, they say 'ah no, you can't', but I don't think it really matters. We’re playing new stuff, it’s sounding great so we just wanna put it out there. So yeah, we're gonna be playing some new ones."

The tracklisting for 'Velociraptor! is:

'Let's Roll Just Like We Used To'
'Days Are Forgotten'
'Goodbye Kiss'
'La Fée Verte'
'Velociraptor!'
'Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm)'
'I Hear Voices'
'Re-wired'
'Man Of Simple Pleasures'
'Switchblade Smiles'
'Neon Noon'
