Bright Eyes Release Video For ‘Jejune Stars’ – Watch Now

Tuesday, 14 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Bright Eyes have unveiled the video for their latest single, ‘Jejune Stars’. The track is the second to be taken from Conor Oberst’s final effort under the Bright Eyes moniker, ‘The People’s Key’.

Directed by Lance Acord (of ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ and ‘Lost In Translation’ fame), the video is Firework’s Night come early, featuring the band performing in silhouette in front of an array of sparklers and light effects.

The track is an apt single choice for the Nebraska-born singer/songwriter. Retaining his usual lyrical gems throughout, the song unravels to form one of the most pop-friendly efforts in the entire Bright Eyes back catalogue, bringing out a Strokes-esque guitar line in the chorus and some meaty double pedal work as the song reaches its climactic breakdown.

As well as Bright Eyes, the impressive line-up is said to include The National, Portishead, The Flaming Lips, Janelle Monae, Aphex Twin and Mogwai.
