Paul McCartney Planning Gorillaz Collaboration?

Paul McCartney has hinted that a collaboration with Gorrilaz could be on the cards in the near future. In a recent interview, the former Beatle stated that he is considering joining the likes of Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg and Kano, all of whom have have joined up musically with the cartoon band over the past few years.

McCartney was speaking in an interview with The Quietus regarding the release of reissues of ‘McCartney’ and ‘McCartney II’, when he discussed the potential collaboration. He said: "We have kind of talked - nothing serious but I like what they do. It's got near a couple of times but we never had the time."

Never ones to miss out on a scoop, The Sun also claim to have contacted a “source” who was happy to discuss the conversations between McCartney and Gorillaz vocalist Damon Albarn. They said: "Damon originally brought up the idea of doing something with Gorillaz at the Q Awards [in 2007] and they have been trying to sort something since. It never worked out on the last album, 'Plastic Beach', but things are looking good for something in the future."

Paul McCartney is currently in the final stages of writing a musical score for the prestigious New York City Ballet.
