Noah And The Whale Announced As Special Guests For 'Introducing Glastonbury' Radio Broadcast

Noah and the Whale have been announced as special guests for 'Introducing Glastonbury' - a first ever historic triple-cast across Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music, which kicks of the BBC's extensive coverage of the Glastonbury 2011. Broadcast on Thursday 23 June (8-10pm), live from site, the show will also offer a mass platform to BBC Introducing sourced band Dry the River, who will also perform a number of tracks.

In this two-hour special, Steve Lamacq, Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe will celebrate the best of BBC Introducing and preview this year’s Glastonbury Festival and organiser Michael Eavis, will be on hand to explain why Glastonbury is such a special fixture in the musical year.

BBC Introducing is a multi-platform initiative across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network, 40 BBC Local Radio stations and www.bbc.co.uk/introducing – all working together to provide an internal network dedicated to supporting the hottest new talent from across the UK.

The BBC has extensive coverage of Glastonbury 2011 across television, radio, and online at www.bbc.co.uk/Glastonbury and four Red Button streams, with BBC Radio 6 Music offering non-stop HD coverage. In the week after the event, there is additional coverage across all platforms and extensive highlights on Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra, Radio 2 and Radio 4.
