Metronomy have released a video to their new single ‘The Bay’, the latest track to be taken from their Top 10 album ‘The English Riviera’. It is the album’s third single following ‘She Wants’ and ‘The Look’, both of which were released earlier this year. Metronomy will be playing a full UK tour in September before a headlining date at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Monday 3rd October as part of the legendary venue’s Albert Sessions. See below for dates and tickets.
In April this year, Metronomy released their third album ‘The English Riviera’, which peaked at Number 3 in the UK Albums Chart. It is the band’s first album as a quartet, following the addition of former Lightspeed Champion drummer Anna Prior and bassist Gbenga Adelekan to the line-up.
Metronomy started in 1999 as a solo project of frontman Joe Mount, but was later joined by keyboard player Oscar Cash and bassist Gabriel Stebbing. The group released their first two albums ‘Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)’ and ‘Nights Out’ in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Mount has recently been working with Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts on her debut solo album ‘Cinderella’s Eyes’, which is due for release in October.
In addition to the band’s September tour, Metronomy will be performing at a number of festivals over the summer, including Reading and Leeds, T in the Park, Wireless, Bestival and a Pyramid Stage performance at next weekend’s Glastonbury.
