Manchester-based electronic rock trio The Whip have announced details of their new album ‘Wired Together’, which is due for release on 19th September. The album is the band’s second to date, following their 2008 debut ‘X Marks the Destination’. The Whip have also revealed a number of live dates including a performance at London’s Wireless Festival in Hyde Park next weekend and dates supporting The Music on their farewell tour in August. More gigs are expected soon – see below for all dates and tickets.
The Whip were founded in Oldham in 2006 by frontman Bruce Carter. In 2008, they released their debut album ‘X Marks the Destination’, which featured the single ‘Trash’ and was produced by Jim Abbiss and Sneaker Pimps founder Liam Howe. Abbiss is probably best-known as the co-producer of Arctic Monkeys’ debut ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ as well as his work with Kasabian, Adele and KT Tunstall.
The Whip’s new album ‘Wired Together’ will be released on 19th September and can be pre-ordered through the band’s website. Anyone who orders the album through the website will receive five album tracks as a taster.
