Robbie Williams has claimed that he already has around thirty tracks in progress for his next solo LP. The Take That singer recently finished the final European leg of the boyband’s record-breaking ‘Progress’ tour, but is apparently wasting no time before jumping into his next musical venture.
Speaking through the blog on his official website, the singer stated that he plans to spend the next month in Los Angeles finishing lyrics and the foundations of tracks before moving on to the proper recording stage of his next release.
Williams wrote: “Well I have, it seems, a mountain of songs to finish lyrics for. So many tunes are in good shape now. Maybe 30 knocking around and that's not including old ones that never made [Williams’ last album] 'Reality Killed The Video Star'.”
The ‘Angels’ singer used the blog post to discuss his recent stint with Take That, thanking fans who saw the band during their recent arena tour. Looking back on the ‘Progress’ tour, Williams wrote: "we did exactly what we set out to achieve ... record selling, critically acclaimed album, check ... record busting tour?, check ... 1.8 million happy friendlies?, check ... the ghost of christmas past finally laid to rest, check!"
The singer also went on to briefly hint at a return to Take That after his solo release, saying: "I have to ride again with them. It's too much fun"
