Confusion Surrounds Michael Forever Tribute Concert As Craig David Confirms He Will Perform

The confusion surrounding Michael Jackson’s tribute concert has exploded again today as a new tour emerged and acts for Cardiff’s homage concert went unannounced.

The Michael Forever concert, proposed to be held in the Millennium Stadium this October, has already caused controversy after the decision to hold the gig on a date which clashes with Jackson’s doctor’s court trial. The doctor, Conrad Murray, is in court after he apparently supplied the drugs which killed the star.

‘Michael Forever’ has split the Jackson family – the show is supported by MJ’s brothers and sisters La Toya, Jackie, Tito and Marlon as well as his mother, but is condemned by brothers Randy and Jermaine, who described the concert as ‘inappropriate’.

It has now emerged that the Jackson estate aren’t supporting the Cardiff gig but are endorsing a new MJ tour called ‘Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour’, which is held in conjunction with the Cirque du Soleil. The North American leg of this tour has already been scheduled, and is set to kick off this October in Montreal. This MJ tribute tour will feature circus performers and a ‘riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy.’

The Millennium Stadium gig looked like it was THE place to be for MJ fans this year, and was hyped up to be a huge concert with a plethora of performers set to play. Now, the announcement of acts has been postponed, along with the registration for tickets – leaving fans confused and in doubt over whether the show will go ahead. Global Live Events, the organisers of the October 8th show, have tried to reassure fans.

“We will be announcing an incredible line-up very soon,” said a Global Live Events spokesperson. “The registration period was put on hold because we want people to know who they are registering to see.”

It has now also emerged that Craig David may be one of the acts the organisers plan to reveal soon, after he posted on Facebook saying that he would be performing at the show.

“I am honoured to announce,” David revealed, “[that] I will be performing alongside some of the world's greatest artists at the Michael Jackson tribute concert.”

JLS have expressed their wishes to join David on the bill for MJ’s Cardiff tribute gig, but have not announced anything official. Acts are expected to be announced in the coming days, but with the ongoing confusion surrounding the gig, announcements could be postponed further.
