Nero have earned the Number One spot in the UK albums chart this week, knocking Amy Winehouse’s resurgent album ‘Back To Black’ from the top spot. The dance merchants have seen great success with their debut album ‘Welcome Reality’, an LP which spawned a Number One in the UK singles chart. Nero are also the first artists to earn the Number One position with their debut release in 2011.
Meanwhile, ex-Fightstar frontman Charlie Simpson has seen success with his debut solo LP ’Young Pilgrim’. The ‘Parachutes’ singer has entered the albums chart at Number Six, one place about the late John Denver’s ‘The Ultimate Collection’.
In terms of the UK singles chart, Wretch 32 has earned the top position with ‘Dont Go’ (featuring Josh Kumra). The rapper (real name Jermaine Scott) managed to hold off competition from Emeli Sande and ‘The Voice’ judges Adam Levine (of Maroon 5) and Christina Aguilera, who earned the Number Three position with ‘Moves Like Jagger’.
