Rico Nasty will release her fourth album later this month.
Reuniting with producer Kenneth Blume (fka KennyBeats), who previously helmed her 2019 mixtape 'Anger Management' and her 2018 breakout track Smack a Bitch, the Maryland-born rapper will release 'RX' on July 24 via Sugar Trap.
The follow-up to last year's 'LETHAL' and its deluxe edition, 'LETHAL-ER', took shape between Nasty's tour last year and filming her role in the AppleTV+ series Margot's Got Money Troubles. It also features contributions from 100 Gecs' Dylan Brady. On collaborating with Blume again, Nasty said:
"I missed someone that was honest with me. And I missed someone who knew me back then, before I had any success. I felt like if I’m going to get back to doing me, I should go back to someone who can be real with me, somebody who’s not too serious or draining."
"From the day we met, no one has made me laugh harder or pushed me further out of my comfort zone," Blume added. "RX feels like homecoming. This project is a reminder of where she came from, what made us all fans; and a scary look at how much better she KEEPS getting."
The new record will include Nasty's June single Rituals, as well as the newly shared electro-pop-trap hybrid Cupcake, which arrives with a video directed by Miggy.
In September, Nasty will join Magdalena Bay as support for Hayley Williams on the North American leg of the Paramore singer's tour, billed as The Hayley Williams Show. Tickets are on sale now.
Earlier this week, she released the track You Can’t Run From Me for the second instalment of the acclaimed anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is set to premiere on Netflix later this year, though the song won't appear on the album.
'RX' tracklist:
1. CDG Foams
2. Frenzy
3. Rotation
4. Cupcake
5. Blow Your Nose
6. Runway
7. Butthead
8. Kiss N Make Up
9. Rituals
