Wolf Alice have shared a new song called Gospel Oak.
The introspective, piano-led ballad takes its name from an area of North London near Finsbury Park, where the band has roots, and will appear on 'The Clearing B-sides', an upcoming 7" release featuring two other unreleased tracks from the sessions for their 2025 album 'The Clearing'. The 7" is due out on August 21, the same day the follow-up to 2021's 'Blue Weekend' arrived last year.
The two other songs on the record, Hit The Sky and a cover of The Roches' 1979 track Hammond Song, feature two of Wolf Alice's favourite singers, Julia Cumming and Bria Salmena, who used to lead Canadian group FRIGS, and are set to arrive digitally in the coming weeks. Wolf Alice said:
"These are a few songs we made during 'The Clearing' that didn’t make it on the final record, but are ones we love very much, including a cover with two of our fave singers Julia Cumming and Bria Salmena - we’re happy to have found a home for them for you to hear. Enjoy."
The three songs will feature on the setlist for the BRIT Award-winning band's homecoming show at Finsbury Park this Sunday (July 5), where they'll be joined by The Last Dinner Party, Lykke Li, Rachel Chinouriri, Keo, and Florence Road.
Following that, they'll play Newcastle's Exhibition Park on July 12 for the In The Park series, alongside a run of UK and European festival appearances, including headline sets at Green Man in Wales and Belfast's CHSq series, a major New York City performance, and dates in Japan and Australia in November and December.
They'll also support Olivia Rodrigo on the September and October dates of the North American leg of The Unraveled Tour. Tickets are on sale now.
