After releasing their third album, 'The Octopus', earlier this year, Manchester three-piece Amplifier have announced a December UK tour.
Amalgamating Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and My Bloody Valentine, Amplifier blast away your inhibitions on a wave of electricity. If you thought the UK could only be home to the fey, fake and uninspired, then think again.
Releasing 'The Octopus' earlier this year, the album took Amplifier three years to make and was financed by themselves. Containing 16 songs that run together into a concept piece lasting just over two hours, 'The Octopus' spreads across two CDs and without any record label interference, the results of the band's labours are huge in scale and panoramic in scope.
Speaking about 'The Octopus', singer, songwriter and guitarist Sel Balamir said. A record company would have insisted we release it as two separate albums. We talked about doing that ourselves because wed probably make twice as much money but to us the aesthetic way its received is more important. Putting it out like this is a statement.
