Acclaimed Irish singer/songwriter, Eleanor McEvoy, has announced she will embark on an intimate UK concert tour in support of her forthcoming new studio album 'Alone'.
'Alone' is a beautiful collection of 12 stripped-down songs, recorded in a spontaneous studio session between tours, just Eleanor, her two guitars, and a sound engineer. The album is released on Monday September 12th by Moscodisc. 'Alone' features new tracks, alongside re-workings of Eleanor’s best loved songs, including her world famous hit single 'A Woman’s Heart.'
Speaking about the creation of the new album, Eleanor says. "There was a time when I was stranded in a long gap between tour dates and, with time to kill, I headed for the peace of The Grange; a small studio tucked away in the Norfolk countryside. In the converted barn, alone except for Dave the engineer, I stepped up to the microphone and sang my songs. My state of mind wasn't the brightest, but there was a certain something about being in the studio with no agenda, no deadline, no pressure, it just came out."
Eleanor’s 17-date UK tour kicks off on September 21st at Birmingham’s Glee Club, then continues nationwide to October 9th, with concerts in London, Winchester, Nottingham, Brighton, Portsmouth, Stratford, Hedben, Kendal, Isle of Bute, Bellshill, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Essex, Owestry, Bury and Inverness.
