Singer and songwriter James Morrison has announced live shows for November.
It’s been a long time since Morrison’s days as a busker in Cornwall. Those were the days where he used to wash cars for a living as he tried to break into the music scene. Eventually his efforts did pay off however and, at the age of just 21, he was signed up by Polydor to make his first album.
Selling more than two million copies worldwide and leaving the music critics speechless, his July 2006 debut record ‘Undiscovered’ was a huge success and entered the UK album chart at number one. 'You Give Me Something' became the romantic anthem of the summer and he was 2006’s biggest selling British male solo artist.
More recently James has been working on his third Studio album 'The Awakening'. Speaking in June 2010, he stated "I've sung too many love ballads. I want to go a bit deeper than that and find more substance. I still don't feel confident enough to write by myself, but that is my aim. I just keep convincing myself that I'm not good enough. There are plenty of good singers out there – it's writing that's the key thing. When I'm working with other people I've heard them say 'Let's try to write a James Morrison chorus.' I want to pretend that I haven't made any albums at all and start afresh."
On July 11th this year, James revealed via Twitter that his album was due to be released later this year on September 26th. The first single is called 'I Won't Let You Go' and the album includes a song called 'Up' which is a duet with current pop queen Jessie J.
