Iconic Welsh soul-singer Sir Tom Jones was forced to cancel a gig on Saturday night after the star suffered a health-scare.
The gig, in Monte Carlo, Monaco, was called-off after Sir Tom suffered from severe dehydration, causing doctors to demand he didn’t perform the gig. It would have been the final date of what was a three month long tour.
Sources say the cause of the dehydration was the intense heat of the country and that he had luckily not been diagnosed with any heart problems. An official statement from Live Nation, the company behind the singer’s tour, can be seen below.
“Sir Tom was ordered by doctors not to perform in Monte Carlo yesterday evening, due to severe dehydration. This was extremely disappointing for Tom, the band and all connected with the tour.
“This was the last date of a very successful 3 month tour, where many of the shows were in locations that were in the throes of high summer heat. There are NO heart problems, as has been reported in the press.
“Sir Tom wants to relay his deep regrets for causing disappointment and inconvenience to all who would have come to enjoy his show last night. He thanks everyone for their understanding and support and hopes to see the fans in Monte Carlo again soon.”
We wish Sir Tom a quick and speedy recovery to full health. NOTE FROM THE EDITOR We don't run any advertising!
