Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson To Take 'Thick As A Brick' Album On 2012 UK Tour & Tickets

Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson has announced plans to take the band's classic album 'Thick as a Brick' out on tour across the UK in 2012. The tour is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album which has not been performed live in full since 1972.
'Thick as a Brick' is perhaps Tull's definitive progressive rock album. Born from a desire to create a concept album following the rock critics panning of the previous year's 'Aqualung,' 'Thick' features a rock first: one continuous song on both sides. The music, and the lyrics reflect complex influences of folk, jazz, and rock. With 'Thick,' Anderson and company broaden rock beyond the limitations of the short song format.
This new tour will begin in Perth on April 14th before heading to venues across the UK. The tour will proceed through Europe in the late spring and summer, and winding up with U.S. dates spanning September, October and November.
Speaking about the tour, Anderson jokes that the tour will feature “a more theatrical production with video, additional musicians and a troupe of dancing elephants. (Just kidding about the dancing elephants: they don’t dance…)”
On its release 'Thick' hit the Number One spot in the U.S. and arguably represented the band's height of popularity in America.
