Smashing Pumpkins Announce November UK Tour & Tickets

Last week Stereoboard brought you news that Chicago rockers, The Smashing Pumpkins, could be about to announce a UK tour having already confirmed US and European dates. The reformed group have this morning unveiled a string of November UK shows in support of their upcoming ninth studio album 'Oceania'.

The band have been working on ‘Oceania’ which is set for release this Autumn. The album is part of their 44-song concept album ‘Teargarden by Kaleidyscope’, and the band are set to release it online in ‘late 2011’ with a CD copy expected in 2012.

With a whole LP’s worth of new material, plus a back-catalogue of eight albums and five extended plays, the band have more than enough material to entertain crowds in their native America as well as Europe – and that’s exactly what they’ll be doing this autumn and winter!

After announcing their US and European dates via Twitter last week, the band later tweeted saying: “Look for more European tour dates to be announced next week...”. With mainland Europe already receiving dates, it looked as though a UK tour was going to be announced soon. True to their words, a UK tour has been unveiled today.

The band now consists of founding frontman Billy Corgan along with Jeff Schroeder on guitar, Nicola Fiorentino on bass and Mike Byrne on drums.

Nov 14th - O2 Academy Newcastle
Nov 15th & 16th - O2 Academy Brixton
Nov 18th - O2 Academy Sheffield
Nov 19th - O2 Academy Birmingham
