Alice Cooper Joined By Friends At Whisky A Go-Go For US Release Of 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare' Album

Celebrating his new album 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare', Alice Cooper took the stage at legendary rock venue the Whisky a Go-Go Thursday, September 15th 2011, for the first time in forty-two years.

Rob Zombie introduced Cooper saying, “I feel like I've spent the last two years giving Alice Cooper awards…but he deserves it.” Cooper was joined by his band: Steve Hunter, one of rock's great guitarists; Tommy Henriksen who co-wrote much of the new release; long-time bassist Chuck Garric; drummer Glen Sobel; and the newest member of the band, guitar prodigy Orianthi, who made her debut with Alice at the show.

The audience, including Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, filmstar Cheech Marin, KISS legends Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer, The Cult's Ian Astbury, were treated to a tour of musical rock history. Not only did Cooper perform his own classics, but covered quintessential hits such as; 'Train Kept A-Rollin' (Yardbirds), 'Brown Sugar' (Rolling Stones), 'We Gotta Get Out of This Place' (The Animals), and both 'Break On Through' and 'Back Door Man' (The Doors) - with special guest guitarist Robby Krieger of The Doors!

Global pop superstar Ke$ha, who co-wrote and duets with Alice on 'What Baby Wants' from 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare,' made a surprise appearance joining him on stage for 'School’s Out.' Cooper treated the audience to the best of his catalogue including 'Under My Wheels,' 'Muscle Of Love,' 'Cold Ethyl,' 'No More Mr. Nice Guy,' 'Billion Dollar Babies' and the closer, 'Elected.'

Fans that missed Alice at the Whisky can catch him on his now-extended 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' world tour. Fourteen US dates have been added after the European leg of the tour, starting Nov 26th in Michigan.
