Seth Lakeman’s Website Crashes Following New Album Announcement

Devon-based folk singer Seth Lakeman has announced details of his new album ‘Tales From The Barrel House’, which is due for release on 18th November through his own Honour Oak Records. When the announcement was made earlier today on sethlakeman.co.uk, an exclusive pre-order offer proved so popular that it caused the website to crash.

Speaking about the incident on his Facebook page, Seth said: “I am completely overwhelmed by the response this morning with so many of you trying to pre-order the new album that my website crashed! The signed copies have already been snapped up so I have decided to extend this to sign every copy that is pre-ordered before midnight tonight.”

‘Tales From The Barrel House’ will be Seth’s sixth album to date following last year’s Top 20 release ‘Hearts and Minds’. A video for new track ‘More Than Money’, which will feature on the album, can be viewed below. The album was recorded in workshops at the historic mining port of Morwellham Quay in Devon, with some parts even being recorded in one of the disused copper mines.

Seth first came to prominence in 2005, when his second album ‘Kitty Jay’ was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The albums that followed have all experienced chart success, particularly 2008’s ‘Poor Man’s Heaven’, which reached Number 8 in the UK Albums Chart upon its release.
