Seth Lakeman is a British folk singer-songwriter from Dartmoor, Devon.
He started his music career in 1994 as a member of the Lakeman Brothers, alongside his siblings Sean and Sam. They released their debut LP ‘Three Piece Suite’, before forming Equation with Kathryn Roberts and Kate Rusby. The band signed to Time Warner in 1995 and released three albums, before Lakeman left in 2001 to launch a solo career. He released his debut album, ‘The Punch Bowl’, in 2002. His second full-length, ‘Kitty Jay’, which came out in 2004, was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. His third LP, ‘Freedom Fields’, hit #32 in the UK Albums Chart, but it was his fourth album, ‘Poor Man's Heaven’, that gave him his greatest commercial success, hitting #8 in the chart. ‘Hearts & Minds’ came out in 2010, followed by ‘Tales from the Barrel House’ in 2011, ‘Word Of Mouth’ in 2014, ‘Ballads of the Broken Few’ in 2016, with his latest LP 'The Well Worn Path' dropping in 2018.
